Guest Post: Erica @ LoyalRUN

I am so excited to be doing a guest post for the lovely Lady Luck!
 photo 1176228_393642074095252_1637795504_n_zps12178898.jpg

I'm Erica and I blog over at LoyalRUN.org
I am a lifestyle blogger, but lately I have been focusing a lot on my weight loss journey.
I have lost 30 lbs in under 3 months. You can track what I eat and how I exercise on MyFitnessPal.
Feel free to add me. My username is: LoyalRUN

When Britney asked me to do a guest post, I was half-way asleep and had no idea what I would post about.
Then I remembered how Britney, being the wonderful friend that she is, hounded me for weighing in every day!
Thanks Britney!
I'm glad she is open and honest with me, because she notices things about me that I sometimes don't see myself.

It's a wonderful way to improve the type of person you are, so you can become the type of person you want to become.

I have already written a post about how the scale does not define you. And that is so true! That number on the scale means nothing if you can see and feel a difference!! It is possible to drop a size without the scale changing!

As much as I believe that the scale doesn't define you, I have caught myself weighing in EVERY SINGLE DAY!
I didn't even notice I was doing it.
I never got discouraged if I didn't see the numbers drop, and I didn't go crazy if I saw the numbers go up. BUT I'm glad I caught it now, because it could have really got out of control!
Thanks, Britney, for reminding me not to weigh in daily!!!

I have come up with a new plan when it comes to weighing in.
I will weigh in on Monday mornings.
Monday's are my "cheat days" so it will help me know how much room I have to wiggle.

I will weigh in on Wednesday mornings.
I want to weigh in on Wednesday mornings for the "We Can" link-up and also so I know how hard I have to push to lose what I may have gained on Monday.

My ultimate goal is to get down to weighing myself once a week.
My goal is to be healthy, not "skinny". The scale is just an added bonus, NOT a focus!

Each step may seem small, but they eventually all add up and get ya to the TOP!

Guest Post- Areeba @ I Have A Messy Bun Blog

Hey Lady Luck's lovely readers, I'm Areeba & I blog over I Have A Messy Bun Blog.
I write about anything-lifestyle-everything-awesomeness with a sprinkle of sarcasm. I'm so happy to guest post on Britney's blog today, lovely lady she is!
When I first started blogging, I thought you gotta write all the stuff down, put pretty pictures and you're done having blogger's crown on your head. Ouch, no! Blogging isn't like this, you gotta have some etiquettes. I made some (many) mistakes in start & I don't want anyone to make them again. I was a no-reply blogger (the biggest shit ever) and other stuff that piss me off if I look at all that stuff today. So that's what you're going to read today, 5 shits mistakes that a blogger shouldn't make!

Being a no-reply blogger
The biggest mistake ever. Still, many bloggers don't know what is this. Simple, you reply your comments through emails. It's really easy peazy, go to your blogger profile and do this : Just tick the show my email address box & you're done!

If you ask me, I actually made "friends" in bloggy land through replying comments in emails and then talking for weeks. That's the magic. Psst, are you still a no-reply blogger? I'll keep preaching about this issue!

Not using twitter
Twitter is the boss! I was told this sentence by a blogging friend and I follow her advice of using twitter religiously. I betcha girl, using twitter is the best way to get into blogging world and not using it is a mistake. Tweet tweet tweet a lot! I'm sorry in advance if you become addicted!

Ignoring your lovers
Everyone's a celebrity in blogsphere. There's always a joy when someone comments/tweets/emails you.
image
At least I'm like this!
Reply each and everyone! I know I know it's hard to pay a visit to everyone but give 30 seconds to you reader to reply! But if you don't, I'll call you a bad blogger. Don't ignore who loves ya!

Sponsoring irrelevant blogs
Aka blogs out of your niche. Having a lifestyle blog and sponsoring DIY + Crafts blog is a mistake. When I did a little survey a while ago and asked a question about sponsoring a blog. The most answers said that sponsoring a blog which is of your own niche is the best option.
Well, there's no objection in buying ad on your fav-o blog and I consider it not-so-biggie-mistake but it still is.

Looking at others
Getting inspiration from others isn't bad, I must say it's great. But I said inspiration not being a copycat! Be real, be yourself, you're blogging for yourself. Don't think before posting that what would that xxx blogger would do if she was writing this kinda post? Naah, give your own self a chance! You're already a star!

That's all. I'm done with preaching all this stuff. Is there any more mistakes that I forgot to mention?
Come meet me over my blog someday! Thanks Britney for having me today :)

Guest Post- Kristen from Hopelessly Ever After

Hi guys!! I'm Kristin from Hopelessly Ever After. Since Britney is off in Tennessee (jealous) I decided to take over her blog for the day!! So find your self a comfy seat, pour yourself a drank (alcoholic drink), and enjoy!!

Oh!! And if you need a good drank recipe here are some awesome ones from my Thirsty Thursday linkup!!

7 reasons why being an adult is freakin' awesome!!

1. I can wear what I want! No more trying to hide my cleavage for a night out on the town!! Momma can't tell me what to wear anymore! Although I may be a member of the IBTC I still like to let the girls out every once in a while. And if I want to wear pajamas to Food Lion I sure as hell will!! Although I don't wear Spongebob pants or Mickey Mouse boxers. That's just weird.

2. I don't have to clean my room before going out on the weekends! Ugh, I hated that! And my room was always a disaster so usually Thursday nights sucked. I would spend the whole night putting away clothes and all the other crap that was strewn about my room. I literally had a path that went from my door to my bed and my bed to my closet. lol. Oh I was messy. And truthfully, it's so weird because now I'm kind of anal about picking things up. Except for in the winter. My lounging clothes sit in a pile next to my side of the bed for days. It's too cold to get undress and then get in bed. You get undressed in bed.

3. Ummm drankin! Hands down best part about being an adult. (yes, even more than the one below this) When I come home the first thing I go for is a beer. Hell, if I want to drink at 10am I can. That's right blitches!! I even drink of weeknights. Sometimes, I even get drunk on weeknights. BOOM! And now, I don't have to bribe my friends parents or my older friends to go get me liquor. I CAN BUY IT MY OWN SELF!! And when I come home drunk, I don't have to pretend that I was crying in order to explain the bloodshot eyes!!

4. SEX. I know you don't technically have to be an adult to have sex, but, I don't have to hide it from my parents anymore! God, I can remember the stress of trying to make sure no one was coming home. Or no one was waking up!! lol. And now, if I accidentally get preggers no one will disown me! I'm married! And, if you just happen to find any sex paraphernalia, you can't judge me. I'm an adult!! I can do the do whenever I want!!

5. No more curfew! OMG! This is a huge one for me. When my husband and I first started dating I was 23. I still lived with my mom again after college and was trying to save up for my own place. But I still had a curfew!! My mother would literally not let me spend the night at my husbands house on the week nights. I WAS 23!! And on the weekends I had to come up with some excuse like i was too drunk to drive home. Then I would have to listen to the lecture about being drunk. That's probably why my husband and I moved in with each other 6 months into our relationship. lol.

6. Chores? If I want to! This kind of goes along with #1. My big chore was vacuuming our house. I know it sounds stupid to complain about, but we had this stupid vacuum that attached to our wall and everything went down into this big compartment in our basement. It was a pain in my ass!! I hated vacuuming with that thing and it ruined me still to this day. If the house needs to be vacuumed Mike does it. I'll turn straight b*tchmode if I do.

7. I can be as lazy as I want! If i want to spend my entire Saturday laying in bed watching tv I will. If I'm tired when I get home from work I'm not doing anything. If I don't feel like cooking I'm ordering takeout. BAM! Whatever I want!! You can't tell me I didn't make my bed. You can't tell me I have to clean my room. I don't care of the house needs to be vacuumed. I'M NOT DOING IT!

Well, it was a pleasure to meet you all. So glad I got the opportunity to guest blog with Britney. Now...time for a drank!!!

Guest Post- Alicia @ Brew Mama

Hello everyone, I'm Alicia and I blog over at Brew Mama. Since Brit is abandoning us all and is going on vacation I'm going do my best to fill in for her.... One of my favorite reads when it comes to reading blog posts is when a blogger posts about their favorite products that they use...Why you ask?  Well because there's been lots of times when I reading one of these posts and I'm like "OH YEAH, I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO TRY THAT" and then I run out and buy it...so today I'm going share some products with you that I love and I use daily.

1) Cailyn Gel Eyeliner- I have it in charcoal. Now I never thought I would like this stuff because I'm not very expertise at lining my top eye lid so when I received it in my Ipsy bag I was a little bummed....UNTIL I TRIED IT. Even my unskilled self can apply it.  Now its a everyday wear. Except  I need it in brown now....
2) Osis Schwarzkopf Dust It- Don't ask me to pronounce it, but  do use it everyday.  I tend to have flat hair so I add a little of this to my roots and tease my hair at the roots with a teasing brush and WALLLLLA...I have a little extra pouf in my hair. I also received this from my Ipsy bag.
3) Target Brand Makeup Remover Towelettes.. Ok...these are a life saver. I'm a mom and I have a very busy life. I found that a lot of nights I was being naughty and wearing my make up to bed, but since I bought these I go to bed every night with a make up free face... Go get ya some!!
4) Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palette- This is one of the best Make up investments I've made. I use it everyday, it works for my everyday wear and works on the occasionally night I get to go out with my hubby.  It's a little pricey but worth every cent...
If you want to check out some of my other favorite products...click here..
Thank you Brit for letting me take over your blog for the day... and thanks to all of you for stopping by.
Make sure you stop by and say "HI" soon..
Have a great day!

Guest Post, Get to know Jodi @ Love and Crayons.

thanks so much jodi for guest posting and keeping my blog going while i am busy getting all moved you are such a sweet, beautiful & kind woman. Enjoy readers and followers, she has some good/funny things to say!

*********************************************************************************

Hey everyone, my name is Jodi and usually you can find me blogging over at Love and Crayons where I talk about my daily life as a mom to two super cute little boys and wife to one amazing husband Jason, and the lovely Britney has asked me to guest post for her while she is getting all moved in to her new home! Yay, congratulations to Britney and Tevis on the move!! This is only my second guest post, ever, and I must say that its nerve racking writing on someone else's page!! I don't consider myself to be all that exciting, unless toddler play dates, poopy bums and spilled milk is your thing!! So today I thought I'd spice it up and tell you some funny/embarrassing/little known facts about me!
  • When I was younger I thought mint flavored Rolaids were candy and I used to steal them and hide them under my pillow to eat after I went to bed. My mom wondered why my pillow smelt like mint, and then she found my stash!
  • This was around the same time I started to chew my toenails. No, I never ate them, just chewed them off. Who needs nail clippers anyway? Oh if only I had that much flexibility still.
  • I work in dental, am in peoples mouths all the time but I hate when saliva touches my gloves. It creeps me out!
  • There used to be a kids singing group up here in Canada called "Sharon, Lois and Bram", they had their own TV show. I used to pretend I shared a bunk bed with them and we would sing all night long.
  • If I could do anything, it would be to carry a tune. I love to sing, know all the words to songs, but sound like crap! Even my two year old tells me to stop! Ouch!
  • I can swear like a trucker!
  • I do listen to, and like, country music!
  • I can be way, way, way too sensitive and hate when I feel like I'm being left out of things.
  • I am a true blonde. I have said and done way too many things to list like asking why they only mowed one patch of grass in the middle of a field when the week before there was a giant barn torn down leaving an empty patch of grass. And one day when leaving work I reached into my bag for my sunglasses while talking to the girls. I put them on and thought things looked weird, blurry almost, like I had on prescription sunglasses, all of the girls started laughing at me and I kept asking them why. What was so funny. They asked me if I was being serious. Turns out one of the lenses had fallen out in my bag, I didn't notice when I put them on and I was standing there talking to them like normal with one lens out of my sunglasses! I was pregnant at the time, so my excuse was "baby brain" which still hasn't left me, by the way!!
Well, there you have it. Not all funny, not all embarrassing, but all true facts about me. Stop by and check out my blog, I'll try to keep you entertained! Thanks Britney for asking me to guest post, I hope your new place is everything you could want!! Andy's birfday3

_________________________________________________________________________________
Hello to all you wonderful Lady Luck readers!! Isn't Britney the best!! (the answer is YES!!) I am lucky enough to be able to do a guest post for her while she is busy having fun!! ;)

I am a lifestyle blogger, and Britney's best friend.. 'cuz you all know you need to know that!! ;) I write about weight loss, clean eating, natural living, fitness, running, and family. Sometimes I throw some beauty tips in the mix too, because we all love to look and feel beautiful (even though we already are).
You can find me over at Loyal RUN! I recently deleted my old blog and started a new one because I have recently had such a great change in my life and I want my blog to focus on the new and improved ME!! Head over and give it a browse, then you can feel free to follow! ;)

Loyal RUN

Today I want to share a wonderful beauty/health trick called....

Organic Coconut Oil

Yup that's right. I know you have heard all about it! It was used mannny years ago until someone decided all "fats" were bad. (not knowing there are different types that work in different ways) They also said avocados were bad too. WRONG!
Anyways, Coconut oil is amazing for you!! And that "fat" that they call bad actually aids in BURNING FAT!!!

Coconuts are a lifesaver I tell ya. I use Coconut oil DAILY!

Some of the things I use it for are:

  • Shakes/Smoothies - I mix it in with my morning shakes. I use a huge leap full of the stuff (approx 2 tbs). The fat, called medium chain triglyceride, burns energy and (the extremely hard to lose) belly fat!!
  • Cooking - For the same reason I put it in my shakes and smoothies, I also use it to cook my veggies. Virgin Coconut Oil can only be used over low heat. If you need something that can handle the heat, use Coconut Oil (not virgin).
  • Diaper Rash Cream - coconut oil is naturally antibacterial and anti fungal.
  • Clean and Hydrate Face - rub in circular motions all over your face. Then Rinse.
  • Hair Care - It keeps hair in healthy growth and reduces protein loss. It also keeps your hair free of lice and lice eggs (sweeeeet!!). Apply oil as you would your conditioner, leave in for 15+ minutes (or over night, but beware it can stain your pillow sheets). Then just rinse in the shower. Ta Da!
  • Makeup Remover - also moisturizes
  • Moisturizer - you can use on your face and body as you would a lotion. It is AMAZING.
  • Shaving - helps remove chemicals and leaves the are super soft.
  • Makeup - oh ya, totally!! Use it on your cheek bones as a highlighter. Good as any store bought highlighter!!
  • Massage - sexy time!! woot woot! Rub that oil in deep into the skin!
**Note** Make sure you are using ORGANIC coconut oil. You don't want your body absorbing all the chemicals, toxins, and pesticides from the alternative.

I don't spend too much money on my coconut oil. I get mine from Kroger.

Now, go get you some coconut oil!!
Know of any other great uses for coconut oil???
Leave them in the comments below! We would love to hear about them!

Don't forget to head over to my blog, Loyal RUN!!
