Storm and Reese Update!

Hi Friends,
It is that time again for me to give you an update on my Fur babies!!! :) If you follow me on IG i love posting and sharing my life about my fur babies. Pure Cuteness, ya can't get mad!

Miss Storm a.k.a Stormy

Our stormy is gonna be 8 months old in less then two weeks

She is 64lbs as of last week. 

She eats 4-5 cups a food a day

and loves her fruit, so she snacks on bananas, carrots, apples and we tried cucumbers the other day, didn't go over too well. & of course her misc. treats she gets to COME INSIDE lol. 

Storm loves to get on my kitchen counters and steal my towels! She sucks on them. 

This winter has been brutal, to say the least. So shes been cooped up for too long, its time spring comes around so our girl can play outside, get her walks in and go to doggy daycare sometimes. 

She is such a people person, she loves everyone and just wants attention. She thinks shes a lap dog. If ya walk in my house YOU BETTER acknowledge her and love on her or she wont leave ya alone. She has to sniff and give kisses. Some people may not like it but they gotta get over it, OR DON'T COME OVER. :) Most nights she starts in bed with us, but an hour or two later i crate her up, shes too big and too hot LOL. She is still all pup so gotta be patient with her for sure. I love her to pieces!

Miss Reese!

My little cutie! 

Reese is older, she will be 8 years old in May I believe. I cant remember the day so i may just make it up haha. i got her summer of 2006 I believe as a little pup who fit in my hands. So little. I need to find pictures and show all my bloggy friends :) She has been at my parents all this time, and we decided to take her, she was my dog it was only fair i should finally give her the love she needs from me. We had to get her all caught up at the vet, it had been awhile. So after an expensive vet visit, shes all up to date and healthy! :) She is 38lbs, the vet changed her food she is eating about 2.5 cups a day, she should lose some weight. Plus once summer gets here i may try to walk her, she does ok on the leash, but never ever have i Walked her. 

She is my little cuddle bug. I love when she cuddles in bed with me or on the couch. She will most def. keep you warm! She follows me everywhere, heck they both do. I can't do anything without me close by. Like i said about storm, she also usually starts the night out in bed with us. They both put off so much heat and sleep on my side of the bed so i gotta put them down when i want to finally get some sleep. Poor Reese puts up a lot with Storm, she beats her up on a daily basis. Anymore i have to let Reese outside by herself to potty or else storm is all over her. They get along, storm just wants to play lol. I am glad she is here with me finally. Tevis is supportive of her being here even if he loves storm more then Reese, I make up for it ;)

Update on my Stormy

Miss Storm turned 5 months on November 9th.

My poor baby will be going through surgery in a few weeks, i am gonna be a mess. She is getting spayed and her dew claws removed.

Storm is getting so big, she is now probably 45 lbs pushing 50... will know end of next week what exactly she weighs. She started the next set of training classes yet we haven't been in two weeks due to the trainer being sick, us on vacation and her not calling us back. I am over taking her to classes. She knows all her basic commands, Sit, lie down, shake and the stay and come command are a work in progress. She doesn't like to "come" when we call her. She is def. calming down and her biting has calmed down too. She is still my ornery girl, tries to find something to get into because we aren't paying attention to her. She steals, shoes, socks and Tevis' shorts. Storm is a counter surfer, she will get everything off the counters.

She eats about 5 cups a food a day along with her treats and we still think she looks thin sometimes. She tells us when she is hungry, she will flip her bowl over and look at us. 

Her crate is in our room and anymore we put her in there to sleep, she is getting too big and she gets hot being up in bed with us and ends up jumping down anyways. I am so glad she likes her crate more now, makes me feel better she just goes right to sleep.

This is what happens when she spends a day at doggy daycare :) She curls up and sleeps next to me, I Love it! 

So basically you don't mess with her daddy! Before this picture I was trying to hug and love on Tevis and she jumped right up there and broke it up haha. This was today, so you can see how big she is getting!!! 

Storm is just your average energetic puppy! She loves to play fetch, take walks and run in the backyard! She is a handful at times but she has really calmed down, which makes things MUCH easier on me! She goes to doggy daycare at least once a week sometimes twice. She has been to the groomers twice since we have gotten her, she loves getting baths. Things with Storm and Delaney are getting a little better, each time seems to be better, once day storm will realize Delaney isn't her chew toy lol.

Halloween- DOGGY STYLE

It's OCTOBER! Which for me means, FALL IS REALLY here! 

I am itching to go buy some fall and Halloween decor. I have yet to do that, so maybe not this year, but it is fun knowing i have MY OWN HOUSE to decorate! 

I don't have a baby to dress up nor will we have Delaney, BUT i do have my cute puppy i could dress up and have a little fun. We always call her the devil puppy, so totally was thinking about buying her a devil costume. Delaney wants her to wear a pirate costume, but devil fits Storm more, haha. Below are some examples, they are cracking me up and are too darn cute Storm is gonna look awesome in her costume.

Can't wait to get her costume and show it off to you all. She has another vet appointment Thursday so we will see how much she weights to make sure we can get her the correct size costume. 

Good news, she graduates from puppy class next Wednesday night! Then we start intermediate classes October 21st. So proud of our pup! Tonight's class we started working on "STAY" and then 'sit' and "SHAKE" she can shake like no ones business  she was of course the only one in class who already knew how to do it.

I DID IT! Weekend Wrap Up!

Why hello Monday, How are you? I am ok seeing you this week, because I HAVE A WEEK BREAK FROM SCHOOL, WAHOOO!

I had a great weekend, so let me tell you ALL ABOUT IT!

Friday was going to be a busy day. Started with my having to drive all the way downtown Indy to the Indianapolis fairgrounds to pick up Erica, Jose and I's race stuff.

I was excited to get my BIB, it felt more official! And we got cool sun glasses, a tattoo, and a T-shirt, which is sadly too small..so something to work forward to be able to fit into it! So driving to the fairgrounds meant driving through downtown, i don't drive much, make Tevis do it he knows his way around usually. Well his eyes aren't the greatest so i asked him to at least go with me so i wouldn't freak out or die, haha. Erica owes me!!!

After we made our trip downtown Indy, Miss Storm had another vet appointment, she is expensive lol. She got another puppy shot, her rabies shot and her nails clipped! She did great of course. She is 30 lbs, she went from 18 to 30 in just three weeks! Our vet thinks she could be a mix of either lab+saint bernard OR lab+newfoundland Either way right now she guesses Storm will be a good 100lbs. She said next visit she will be able to tell even more. We could do a DNA test for like $50 but would only eliminate breeds and not exactly tell us. On another good note, her and Delaney had a better weekend together, besides a little incident last night, but as she gets older and her training classes it will all get better in time. 

After Storms Vet appointment, we waited til it was time to go pick up Delaney for the weekend. We ate at Skyline Chili Friday night and we just love our time with her! Friday night meant, MY BEST FRIEND WAS going to be on her way to my house to stay the night! Erica and her husband showed up before 10pm. I showed her my house :) and we just hung out talked and watched the end of Breaking Dawn part 1.

We woke up bright an early, i was up at 630am and we were out the door around 715amish to stop by the gas station to get some energy drinks haha. I was much better driving downtown to the fairgrounds and way less traffic! We got there at 8am, used restrooms and slowly made our way to the starting spot. 

I wasn't as nervous as I thought i was going to be. Once we got to the starting spot and we were getting hit by color and they were letting wave by wave of people go. I was getting more excited, couldn't believe i was actually doing this. Our wave of people started at like 9:07 and we ran/walked the 5K ColorMeRad in oh about minutes. I DID NOT TRAIN for this run, i ran for a week couple months ago, then we moved and life got busy and exercise was not in my everyday plans. I did a lot better running then i thought and ran more then i thought i would, Erica and I stayed together i sometimes a few steps ahead, i am a fast walker. I had the adrenaline rush and i felt good the whole time. So it has given me the motivation that I can do more of these if i train and run more.

So we of course walked and ran, we would catch our breathe and say lets run to and make a goal and run and sometimes we would both keep going. There was three different down and up hills i ran all those, i felt like it would be an accomplishment if i did. There was alternating Color bomb stations and colored water stations. and I could finally see the bridge at the fairgrounds which meant we were SO CLOSE. i was so excited! WE DID IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! 

Jose finished i think 10-20 minutes before us, HE ROCKS! 

This was at home before i was about to jump in the shower and get ready for our celebration lunch at AppleBees! thumbs up for I DID IT!!!!!!!! So proud of myself! 

I ended Saturday with a nice pedicure with Delaney, HER IDEA!

I got a great foot and leg massage, so it was exactly what i needed. 

SUNDAY!

Sundays are for FOOTBALL. Tevis hates it when football season is over. We got to go to our first game of the season today. and they lost BOOO :( but i had a great time with Tevis anyhow! 

So as you can tell I had an awesome weekend! Its sunday night, i am scheduling some posts and enjoying a relaxing night with Tevis and Miss Storm watching Sunday Night Football! I Hope everyone had a great weekend! Thanks in advance for all the support and kind words! 

Update on Storm Stambaugh! Puppy Love

Saturday we will have had storm for A WHOLE MONTH! wow, lots a lot of sleepless nights i have experienced LOL. Alicia knows what I am talking about, right Brew Mama

this face is hard to resist in the mornings though. I truly love her to death. 

She will be 3 months old September 9th.

Last Friday we took her to the vet, the shot she had to get didn't even phase her, she got a fecal test and didn't even try to bite the vet, haha and then later that night took her medicine like a champ, WHOA i have a good puppy, for now anyways. In December she goes in to get spayed and dew claws come off

She was only 18lbs, thought she would be heavier so we had to up her food its hard for puppies to gain weight and we will adjust as she gains. she is eating 1 1/2 cup in the am and the same amount at night about 12 hours in between each other. She goes back in 2 weeks and then 3 weeks after that, and the Vet should be able to tell us how big they estimate she will get. She def. sees Lab in her and we asked about saint Bernard and because of her fur, paws and dew claws she thinks that's a good guess. We could do a DNA test to know 100% sure but Who has time or MONEY for that? We love her no matter what she is.

Storm is very very playful and bites us like crazy, i love playing with her, especially fetch, i have never had a dog that played fetch. She loves water so we got her a couple little pools. She has her moments where she is on puppy crack and we have to hide from her, haha, she goes nuts. I also love walking her. She starts obedience training Monday September 2nd and I am nervous because i feel like she will be the worst puppy in the class and excited that they will WORK.

We have Delaney every other weekend, usually, sometimes more. Well they don't get a long too well. All Storm wants to do is BITE BITE BITE BITE her. Poor Delaney cant walk without her attacking and wanting to play. I think its because Delaney is more on her "level" and then Delaney screams and cries, or hides in her room. I hope classes will help that, we don't want Delaney scared of Storm. I know it will get better. We have had NO ACCIDENTS all week, wahooo lets keep that up. Oh and Obedience classes start Monday, wish us luck.

What makes me most happy about Storm, is that our home feels more complete. Tevis is so happy with her which in turn makes me happy. Yes, he can get low patience with her but only when he is trying to walk and shes in the way, he is VERY AFRAID he is gonna fall because of her. Other then that he truly and deeply LOVES her. Just been nice to see him smile and love on her! Melts my heart. Getting a puppy may be hard a lot of work but Its worth it. 

If you follow me on IG, i always post pictures of her and her sleeping positions KILL me!!!! She can never pick a spot and take a nap, she moves around for 15 minutes before she finds a good place and she is always laying on her back, she loves to spread out. We let her sleep with us, we may regret it, ok we probably will. BUT she sleeps SOOO much better with us and i will get my sleep back later on. Bonding with her is more important to us then sleep and this week shes been better on not waking me up every two hours. I thought i would be more annoyed with less sleep but when i open my eyes and see those puppies eyes in my face or feel those paws on my back i sometimes cant help but smile, its a good wake up call :)

Meet STORM

As most of you know from my Instagram or Facebook, WE GOT A PUPPY!!!

 We knew once we moved in to our house we would want a dog. I found Lucky Lab rescue and Adoption and we knew it was going to be a great place to find our new fur baby. I applied back on July 7th and for some reason i wasn't getting contacted back, they never received it so i had to re-do it and then the process was very fast. The puppies had picked out were gone, sadly, but i feel it wasn't mean to be then and when i seen pictures of Mia's Litter and we picked the fluffy one i knew she was going to be a perfect match.

Her momma was unwanted and had 11 puppies, 9 girls, 2 boys. She was at a foster home being very well taken care of. Our baby girl is almost 8 weeks old, mainly lab with some Saint Bernard in her! We are gonna have a big girl on our hands which is exactly what we wanted. Her name is Storm, Tevis is into Bowling and is on staff with Storm Bowling Products so it fits well and he was excited he got to pick the name out.

Saturday night was her first night with us, we were kinda ify on what to do with her, let her sleep with us or crate her. We decided to crate her at first, she slept in there from midnight til 3am, woke up crying, took her outside then back in her crate and she only lasted another hour. So decided to let her sleep with us rest of the night, we were up every two hours it seemed like until 10:30am. We will continue to let her sleep with us, we don't mind for now with having to take her outside so often. Sunday night she fell asleep early in the living room and when we went to bed around midnight, we put her into bed with us and surprisingly i took her at only twice, around 3ish and then again at 630ish. Then we all woke up at 930, i def. felt more rested than yesterday. Our bed is really high for her i am afraid i wont catch her trying to jump off, don't want her to get hurt. Even when she gets bigger, guess at a later point we will need to get a step for her or something. Everything has been going great. Monday has come and total she has had 3 pee accidents since Saturday morning, she goes to the door and we let her out praise her and got some treats too. She had one accident today, but tevis ran the vacuum cleaner and scared her. We are being very persistent with her and its paying off already. She is so smart!

She was a surprise for Delaney we did not tell her where we were going or anything. She was so excited and happy when the lady showed up with PUPPIES! Delaney instantly started playing and liked one certain puppy and it ended up being Storm, YAY!

So did you know shes gonna get big? Did you know puppies chew on stuff have accidents outta their control and get into everything? I HAD NO IDEA! (SARCASM) WOW if one more person says "Have fun with that" "shes gonna be big" "puppies are a pain" i am gonna snap someones head off! WE KNOW WHAT WE ARE DOING. WE KNOW WHAT KINDA DOG WE WANTED. I've had puppies before, SO darn annoying. Leave us alone judgmental people. JESUS! Ok rant over :) 

Over all everything is going well with her and she is so adorable and lovable and fun to play with and watch her run in the yard. Tevis feels like our home is more complete now so glad he is HAPPY. Delaney loves her and she loves Delaney they are going to be best friends!
