Guest Post- Areeba @ I Have A Messy Bun Blog

Hey Lady Luck's lovely readers, I'm Areeba & I blog over I Have A Messy Bun Blog.
I write about anything-lifestyle-everything-awesomeness with a sprinkle of sarcasm. I'm so happy to guest post on Britney's blog today, lovely lady she is!
When I first started blogging, I thought you gotta write all the stuff down, put pretty pictures and you're done having blogger's crown on your head. Ouch, no! Blogging isn't like this, you gotta have some etiquettes. I made some (many) mistakes in start & I don't want anyone to make them again. I was a no-reply blogger (the biggest shit ever) and other stuff that piss me off if I look at all that stuff today. So that's what you're going to read today, 5 shits mistakes that a blogger shouldn't make!

Being a no-reply blogger
The biggest mistake ever. Still, many bloggers don't know what is this. Simple, you reply your comments through emails. It's really easy peazy, go to your blogger profile and do this : Just tick the show my email address box & you're done!

If you ask me, I actually made "friends" in bloggy land through replying comments in emails and then talking for weeks. That's the magic. Psst, are you still a no-reply blogger? I'll keep preaching about this issue!

Not using twitter
Twitter is the boss! I was told this sentence by a blogging friend and I follow her advice of using twitter religiously. I betcha girl, using twitter is the best way to get into blogging world and not using it is a mistake. Tweet tweet tweet a lot! I'm sorry in advance if you become addicted!

Ignoring your lovers
Everyone's a celebrity in blogsphere. There's always a joy when someone comments/tweets/emails you.
image
At least I'm like this!
Reply each and everyone! I know I know it's hard to pay a visit to everyone but give 30 seconds to you reader to reply! But if you don't, I'll call you a bad blogger. Don't ignore who loves ya!

Sponsoring irrelevant blogs
Aka blogs out of your niche. Having a lifestyle blog and sponsoring DIY + Crafts blog is a mistake. When I did a little survey a while ago and asked a question about sponsoring a blog. The most answers said that sponsoring a blog which is of your own niche is the best option.
Well, there's no objection in buying ad on your fav-o blog and I consider it not-so-biggie-mistake but it still is.

Looking at others
Getting inspiration from others isn't bad, I must say it's great. But I said inspiration not being a copycat! Be real, be yourself, you're blogging for yourself. Don't think before posting that what would that xxx blogger would do if she was writing this kinda post? Naah, give your own self a chance! You're already a star!

That's all. I'm done with preaching all this stuff. Is there any more mistakes that I forgot to mention?
Come meet me over my blog someday! Thanks Britney for having me today :)

Guest Post- Kristen from Hopelessly Ever After

Hi guys!! I'm Kristin from Hopelessly Ever After. Since Britney is off in Tennessee (jealous) I decided to take over her blog for the day!! So find your self a comfy seat, pour yourself a drank (alcoholic drink), and enjoy!!

Oh!! And if you need a good drank recipe here are some awesome ones from my Thirsty Thursday linkup!!

7 reasons why being an adult is freakin' awesome!!

1. I can wear what I want! No more trying to hide my cleavage for a night out on the town!! Momma can't tell me what to wear anymore! Although I may be a member of the IBTC I still like to let the girls out every once in a while. And if I want to wear pajamas to Food Lion I sure as hell will!! Although I don't wear Spongebob pants or Mickey Mouse boxers. That's just weird.

2. I don't have to clean my room before going out on the weekends! Ugh, I hated that! And my room was always a disaster so usually Thursday nights sucked. I would spend the whole night putting away clothes and all the other crap that was strewn about my room. I literally had a path that went from my door to my bed and my bed to my closet. lol. Oh I was messy. And truthfully, it's so weird because now I'm kind of anal about picking things up. Except for in the winter. My lounging clothes sit in a pile next to my side of the bed for days. It's too cold to get undress and then get in bed. You get undressed in bed.

3. Ummm drankin! Hands down best part about being an adult. (yes, even more than the one below this) When I come home the first thing I go for is a beer. Hell, if I want to drink at 10am I can. That's right blitches!! I even drink of weeknights. Sometimes, I even get drunk on weeknights. BOOM! And now, I don't have to bribe my friends parents or my older friends to go get me liquor. I CAN BUY IT MY OWN SELF!! And when I come home drunk, I don't have to pretend that I was crying in order to explain the bloodshot eyes!!

4. SEX. I know you don't technically have to be an adult to have sex, but, I don't have to hide it from my parents anymore! God, I can remember the stress of trying to make sure no one was coming home. Or no one was waking up!! lol. And now, if I accidentally get preggers no one will disown me! I'm married! And, if you just happen to find any sex paraphernalia, you can't judge me. I'm an adult!! I can do the do whenever I want!!

5. No more curfew! OMG! This is a huge one for me. When my husband and I first started dating I was 23. I still lived with my mom again after college and was trying to save up for my own place. But I still had a curfew!! My mother would literally not let me spend the night at my husbands house on the week nights. I WAS 23!! And on the weekends I had to come up with some excuse like i was too drunk to drive home. Then I would have to listen to the lecture about being drunk. That's probably why my husband and I moved in with each other 6 months into our relationship. lol.

6. Chores? If I want to! This kind of goes along with #1. My big chore was vacuuming our house. I know it sounds stupid to complain about, but we had this stupid vacuum that attached to our wall and everything went down into this big compartment in our basement. It was a pain in my ass!! I hated vacuuming with that thing and it ruined me still to this day. If the house needs to be vacuumed Mike does it. I'll turn straight b*tchmode if I do.

7. I can be as lazy as I want! If i want to spend my entire Saturday laying in bed watching tv I will. If I'm tired when I get home from work I'm not doing anything. If I don't feel like cooking I'm ordering takeout. BAM! Whatever I want!! You can't tell me I didn't make my bed. You can't tell me I have to clean my room. I don't care of the house needs to be vacuumed. I'M NOT DOING IT!

Well, it was a pleasure to meet you all. So glad I got the opportunity to guest blog with Britney. Now...time for a drank!!!

Guest Post- Alicia @ Brew Mama

Hello everyone, I'm Alicia and I blog over at Brew Mama. Since Brit is abandoning us all and is going on vacation I'm going do my best to fill in for her.... One of my favorite reads when it comes to reading blog posts is when a blogger posts about their favorite products that they use...Why you ask?  Well because there's been lots of times when I reading one of these posts and I'm like "OH YEAH, I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO TRY THAT" and then I run out and buy it...so today I'm going share some products with you that I love and I use daily.

1) Cailyn Gel Eyeliner- I have it in charcoal. Now I never thought I would like this stuff because I'm not very expertise at lining my top eye lid so when I received it in my Ipsy bag I was a little bummed....UNTIL I TRIED IT. Even my unskilled self can apply it.  Now its a everyday wear. Except  I need it in brown now....
2) Osis Schwarzkopf Dust It- Don't ask me to pronounce it, but  do use it everyday.  I tend to have flat hair so I add a little of this to my roots and tease my hair at the roots with a teasing brush and WALLLLLA...I have a little extra pouf in my hair. I also received this from my Ipsy bag.
3) Target Brand Makeup Remover Towelettes.. Ok...these are a life saver. I'm a mom and I have a very busy life. I found that a lot of nights I was being naughty and wearing my make up to bed, but since I bought these I go to bed every night with a make up free face... Go get ya some!!
4) Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palette- This is one of the best Make up investments I've made. I use it everyday, it works for my everyday wear and works on the occasionally night I get to go out with my hubby.  It's a little pricey but worth every cent...
If you want to check out some of my other favorite products...click here..
Thank you Brit for letting me take over your blog for the day... and thanks to all of you for stopping by.
Make sure you stop by and say "HI" soon..
Have a great day!

How we told everyone about the engagement.

I usually do a So What Wednesday post, but decided to write a little bit more about my amazing engagement!

We were suppose to keep quiet until i got my ring back. Well i told probably 4 people the night it happened because i could not hold my excitement. I made sure i told people who i cared about and i knew would keep our secret!

We technically told our friends Steve and Mandy together first, they were in town and we would not see them again in person until after we got the ring and we wanted to be able to tell them in person.

I hated that i had to wait two weeks before getting my ring back. Luckily it came in 4 days early, on a Tuesday. That night Delaney was with Tevis' mom and sister so when we picked her up we told them. They were excited and they hugged us and started asking questions of course :)

Couple days later we decided to tell our friends who are more like family to us Mark, Melissa, Bob and Karen. I texted Melissa and told her we were stopping by. We walked in and Mark knew something was up i was all giddy and smiling so big. So i just stuck out my hand and we shocked the crap outta them, they are happy for us but was just shocked because Tevis likes to say stuff like "i am never getting married" and makes all kinds of jokes, they didn't think Tevis was ready for that next step. After it sank it we got text messages saying how happy they were for us :)

Later that night we told Bob and Karen at our weekly Thursday night dinner, and Karen basically jumped for joy. They mean a lot to us so i was excited to tell them. They have been there for us for a lot are some of the greatest people I will ever meet.

Last people to tell in person was my family, so we did that this past Saturday. I gathered everyone up in the kitchen and started showing them pictures from the previous weekend with Tevis' family. I started at like picture #5 and went backwards so i could land on a picture that said we were engaged and showed my ring. Took my mom a minute to figure it out, haha. I love her.
My dad was the first one to smile say congrats and hug me. Which meant the world to me. He isn't very affectionate or shows much emotion, so seeing that and getting a hug i KNEW HE WAS happy with the engagement. I was so relieved to finally get to tell my family. They were all very happy for us! I know my brother and his girlfriend are not far off from getting engaged either. :)

Once we told the certain people we wanted to tell in person it was time to make it FACEBOOK OFFICIAL, haha. We got the most love and support i could ever imagine. Not gonna lie i loved the attention, getting the comments, "likes", and text messages. Saturday was a good day!

There is not date set, we are not even thinking about it. There is no rush for that right now. I am happy where we are at and perfectly okay enjoying the engagement and just being in love.

So yes i am already wearing my wedding band, it was our personal choice. I might as well enjoy it all since we don't have the date set. I have some bridal bucks to spend at Kays, so I may get Tevis a ring sometime soon.

Not the most interesting story or blog post, but like I've said before i want to document these great things that happen in my life so i can look back and read them.

Down below are some of our family photos :)
Enjoy!!

And look forward to some pretty awesome ladies guest posting for me
because I leave for Gatlinburg, Tennessee Thursday morning and get back Monday night!
